6 MHz switching — inductor shrinks to 1 µH or less
The TPS62672YFDT switches at 6 MHz, which lets the output inductor drop to the 0.47 µH to 1 µH range — small enough for a 0603 or 0805 footprint. That is the whole point of this part: you trade a little efficiency at heavy load for a power stage that fits in a corner of a multi-layer board. Output is fixed at 1.5 V, so no feedback divider network is needed on the board. The 650 mA current ceiling covers a modest digital rail — a Cortex-M4 core, a small FPGA bank, or a sensor cluster — but leaves no headroom for inrush or transient spikes beyond that number.
6-DSBGA — wafer-level chip-scale, no leads exposed
The 6-DSBGA package is a 0.4 mm pitch wafer-level ball-grid array with six solder bumps on the bottom. There are no side leads — all connections are through the bumps, and the part is underfilled in production. The reflow profile must match the JEDEC standard for 0.4 mm pitch BGAs; a hot-air rework station with a fine nozzle can remove it, but the board pads will need re-tinning. The tape-and-reel and cut-tape options cover both production reel quantities and prototype pick quantities.
Temperature grade — industrial, not automotive
It fits outdoor telecom cabinets, factory-floor sensors, and indoor power supplies, but it does not reach the 125°C or 150°C junction temperatures that automotive or downhole applications require.
