600 mA, 6 MHz — small-package power for battery gear
The Texas Instruments TPS62622YFFR is a 600 mA step-down buck regulator switching at 6 MHz, in a 6-DSBGA package. The high switching frequency lets the designer shrink the inductor and output capacitors to 0603 or 0402 case sizes, which is the whole point of this part for space-constrained portable designs. The fixed 1.5 V output targets low-voltage core rails in wireless modules, wearables, and IoT edge nodes where every mm² of board area is budgeted.

Package and assembly — 6-DSBGA handling
The 6-DSBGA (0.4 mm pitch, 0.9 mm × 1.3 mm body) is a wafer-level chip-scale package. The solder balls are the only connection — no leads, no exposed pad. Moisture sensitivity level (MSL) is typical for this package class; store the reels in a dry cabinet below 10% RH after opening, and bake before reflow if the exposure time exceeds the floor life label.
