What this 500 mA, 3 MHz buck regulator does
The synchronous rectifier keeps efficiency up without an external Schottky diode. Output is fixed at 1.2 V — no resistor divider needed.
TI lists the TPS62304YZDR as obsolete. The 8-DSBGA footprint is the tightest constraint for any pin-compatible swap; a replacement must match the ball map and the 3 MHz switching characteristic to keep the same external inductor and capacitor values.
Housed in an 8-bump DSBGA, the TPS62304YZDR is a wafer-level chip-scale package — no moulded body, just solder balls on the die.
