1 A fixed-output buck for tight rails
The Texas Instruments TPS62293DRVT is a step-down (buck) switching regulator delivering a fixed 1.8 V output at up to 1 A from a 2.3 V to 6 V input supply. The 2.25 MHz switching frequency allows the use of small inductors and ceramic capacitors, shrinking the total solution footprint for space-constrained designs.
Switching frequency and inductor selection
At 2.25 MHz, the switching frequency pushes the fundamental and its harmonics above the AM radio band, reducing EMI filtering needs in portable and industrial equipment. The trade-off is slightly higher switching losses compared to a 500 kHz part, but for a 1 A load the efficiency penalty is small.
