600 mA automotive buck — the AEC-Q100 differentiator
The TPS62260TDRVRQ1 is a 600 mA step-down converter from TI, built for the automotive temperature range and qualified to AEC-Q100. Output is adjustable from 0.6 V up to the input voltage, with synchronous rectification integrated — no external Schottky diode needed. The 6-WSON package with exposed pad (2x2 mm) keeps the thermal path short to the PCB copper plane, which matters when the part is running near its 105°C upper limit in an under-hood or engine-bay environment.
Output range and input headroom
Input voltage range is 2 V to 6 V, covering typical automotive battery rails (3.3 V, 5 V) and post-regulated supplies. The output adjusts from a 0.6 V reference up to 6 V, so it can feed a 1.2 V core rail, a 1.8 V I/O rail, or a 3.3 V peripheral bus from a single 5 V input. With a single 600 mA output and positive configuration, this is a point-of-load regulator for one downstream rail — not a multi-output supply.
