Automotive-grade 300 mA buck for 1.8 V rails
It delivers 300 mA at a regulated 1.8 V from an input range of 2 V to 6 V, switching at 2.25 MHz to keep external inductor and capacitor values small.
What the 2.25 MHz switching buys the board
The 2.25 MHz switching frequency lets the designer use a 1 µH to 2.2 µH inductor and 10 µF output capacitor — roughly half the footprint of a 500 kHz buck for the same ripple spec. The trade-off is higher switching losses, but at 300 mA output the efficiency penalty is under 2 % versus a lower-frequency part in the same family.
The part comes in a SOT-23-5 Thin (TSOT-23-5) package — 5 pins on 0.95 mm pitch, body 2.9 mm × 1.6 mm. Mounting is surface-mount only. The thin SOT-23 profile suits low-profile assemblies where height above board is constrained to under 1.2 mm.
