300 mA fixed-output buck for tight rails
The TPS62204DBVT is a fixed 1.6V output, 300 mA synchronous buck regulator switching at 1 MHz. The 1 MHz rate lets you use a small inductor — typically 4.7 µH or 10 µH — which keeps the PCB footprint compact on a 2-layer board. Input range spans 2.5V to 6V, so it can run directly from a single Li-ion cell or a 3.3V / 5V rail without a pre-regulator. The fixed output eliminates the external feedback divider, saving two resistors and one node on the layout.
Synchronous rectifier and thermal envelope
The integrated synchronous rectifier avoids an external Schottky diode, which reduces BOM count and improves efficiency at light loads. Efficiency peaks above 90% in the 100–200 mA range typical of sensor and MCU rails. The SOT-23-5 package has a junction-to-ambient thermal resistance around 200°C/W; at 300 mA output the internal power dissipation stays under 0.3W in most conditions, keeping the die well within the safe operating area.
