Fixed 3.3 V at 300 mA — the BOM-fit decision
Input range and output — what the rails tell you
The 2.5 V to 6 V input range covers single-cell Li-Ion (3.0 V to 4.2 V), two-cell alkaline, and regulated 5 V or 3.3 V rails. The fixed 3.3 V output is set internally — no external resistor divider, so the output accuracy depends only on the internal reference. At 300 mA continuous output, the 1 MHz switching rate keeps the inductor value in the 4.7 µH to 10 µH range, which fits the SOT-23-5 footprint without crowding the passives.
