Fixed 3.3 V at 1 A — no feedback divider needed
The TPS62162DSGR is a fixed-output synchronous buck converter from TI's DCS-Control family. It delivers 1 A continuous at a regulated 3.3 V from an input rail spanning 3 V to 17 V. The fixed output eliminates the external feedback resistor divider, saving two components and one feedback-node noise path on the PCB.
2.25 MHz switching — small inductor, small capacitor
Switching at 2.25 MHz lets the designer use a 1 µH to 2.2 µH inductor and 10 µF to 22 µF output capacitor — typical values for this class. The DCS-Control architecture keeps transient response fast enough that the output capacitance is set by ripple, not by load-step undershoot. The 8-WSON (2x2 mm) package plus tiny passives fits a complete regulator in about 20 mm² of board area.
This covers most industrial, telecom, and outdoor equipment environments.
