3.2 A buck in a 3×3 mm VQFN — what that buys the rail
The TPS62134DRGTR packs a 3.2 A continuous output into a 16-VQFN (3x3 mm) package with an exposed thermal pad. The synchronous rectifier keeps the efficiency high enough that the pad can sink the heat at 125°C junction in still air — no fan required for most loads.
Input range and programmable output — BOM-fit decisions
Input voltage spans 3 V minimum to 17 V maximum. The output is programmable from 0.7 V up to 1 V.
Active production — ordering and lifecycle posture
It is ROHS3 compliant.
Switching frequency and thermal — layout expectations
The 1 MHz fixed switching frequency keeps the inductor in the 1–4.7 µH range, which fits a small 2–3 mm footprint. At that frequency, the switching node edge rate demands a tight loop — the input cap must sit within 2–3 mm of the VIN and PGND pins, and the exposed pad needs a solid via-stitched ground plane to pull heat out of the junction.
