What this regulator does on the board
The Texas Instruments TPS62113RSAR is a synchronous buck regulator that steps down a 3.1 V to 17 V input rail down to an adjustable output from 1.2 V up to 16 V.
The 1.5 A output rating sets the load budget for the rail — enough for a sensor cluster, a small FPGA core, or a post-regulated supply for an MCU analog section. The 1 MHz switching frequency lets you pick a 4.7 µH to 10 µH inductor and ceramic output capacitors in the 10 µF to 22 µF range, keeping the total footprint under 30 mm² for the power stage.
