1 MHz switching — inductor sizing trade-off
With a 1 MHz switching frequency, the TPS62110HPWP lets the designer use a smaller inductor (typically in the 4.7 µH to 10 µH range) compared to a 500 kHz part, which saves board area. The trade-off is higher switching losses and slightly more output ripple — the inductor value and output capacitor ESR need to be chosen to keep ripple within the load's tolerance.
Without that thermal land, the junction temperature rises quickly under full 1.5A load. The package is a 4.40 mm wide PowerTSSOP with 0.65 mm pitch — standard for a 16-pin HTSSOP footprint.
