Switching frequency and inductor choice
At 1.4 MHz the part lets you use a small inductor — typically 1.0 µH to 2.2 µH — which keeps the overall converter footprint tight. That frequency is high enough to push switching noise above the AM band but low enough that the internal FETs don't burn excessive gate-drive loss.
The full -40°C start-up is important for cold-crank scenarios in battery-powered equipment.
