3 A buck at 2.4 MHz — DCS-Control loop
The TPS62085RLTR is a Texas Instruments DCS-Control™ step-down regulator that delivers 3 A continuous output from a 2.5 V to 6 V input rail. The 2.4 MHz switching frequency lets the output filter use small inductors and ceramic capacitors, keeping the total solution footprint tight. Output is adjustable from 0.8 V up to the input voltage, so it can power a 1.2 V core rail, a 1.8 V I/O rail, or a 3.3 V peripheral bus from the same regulator.
Industrial temp range and package constraints
The 2.4 MHz switching edges are fast — the switch node ringing couples into the feedback path if the layout is sloppy. Keep the input capacitor within 2 mm of the VIN pin and route the feedback trace away from the inductor.
The part is ROHS3 compliant.
