1.2 A output, 2 MHz switching — sizing the rail
The TPS62080ADSGT is a DCS-Control™ synchronous buck regulator from Texas Instruments delivering 1.2 A continuous output from a 2.3 V to 6 V input rail. The 2 MHz switching frequency lets you use a small 1 µH to 2.2 µH inductor and ceramic output capacitors, keeping the total solution footprint under 15 mm². The adjustable output range from 0.5 V up to 4 V covers the core and I/O voltages for most low-power MCUs and FPGAs.
The 2.3 V minimum input lets this part run from a single Li-Ion cell down to near its depletion voltage (3.0 V nominal, 2.5 V cutoff). The 6 V maximum input excludes 12 V intermediate buses — this is a low-voltage rail part, not a multi-rail front-end.
