Fixed 3.3 V rail — no feedback divider needed
The TPS62063DSGT is a synchronous step-down (buck) converter from Texas Instruments that delivers a fixed 3.3 V output from an input range of 2.7 V to 6 V. The fixed output voltage means you skip the external feedback resistor divider — the regulation is set internally, saving two components and one feedback-node routing trace. This is a common point-of-load voltage for 3.3 V logic rails powering MCUs, FPGAs, and sensor clusters in portable and industrial gear.
3 MHz switching — shrink the passives
Switching at 3 MHz lets you use a smaller inductor and lower-value output capacitors than a 500 kHz or 1 MHz regulator would need. For a 1.6 A rail, the inductor typically lands in the 1 µH to 2.2 µH range, and the output caps can be 10 µF ceramic types. The trade-off is higher switching losses at light load, but the synchronous rectifier helps keep efficiency respectable down to a few milliamps.
