Synchronous rectification — the external Schottky stays off the BOM
The integrated synchronous rectifier eliminates the catch diode, saving one component and the associated forward-drop loss. At light loads the part enters power-save mode; the switching frequency drops to maintain regulation without excessive ripple. The fixed 3.3 V output means no feedback divider — the FB pin is internally set, so the resistor pair is zero parts on the BOM.
