Fixed 3.3V rail from a 2.5V–6V input bus
The TPS62046DGQ is a fixed 3.3V output step-down (buck) converter from Texas Instruments, delivering up to 1.2A continuous current. The input range spans 2.5V to 6V, so it can run from a 3.3V or 5V supply rail — common in mixed-voltage systems. Because the output is fixed at 3.3V, there is no external feedback divider — the BOM stays lean. The synchronous rectifier eliminates the freewheeling Schottky diode, saving one component and a bit of board area. The 1.25MHz switching frequency lets you use a small inductor — typically 4.7 µH to 10 µH — and small ceramic output capacitors, keeping the total solution footprint compact.
The 10-MSOP (PowerTFSOP) package measures 3.00 mm × 3.00 mm with a 0.50 mm pitch, a common footprint that routes easily on a two-layer board with a solid ground plane under the exposed pad. Confirm the PCB land pattern matches the recommended layout in the datasheet.
