1.2 A in a 3x3 mm VSON — the power-density anchor
The TPS62043DRCR is a fixed-output 1.6 V step-down (buck) converter from Texas Instruments, rated for 1.2 A continuous output in a 10-VFDFN Exposed Pad package. The 1.25 MHz switching frequency lets the designer use small-value inductors and ceramics, keeping the total solution footprint tight for space-constrained boards.
Switching frequency and inductor sizing
At 1.25 MHz, the typical inductor value falls in the 2.2 µH to 4.7 µH range. The fixed switching frequency also places the fundamental ripple above the AM broadcast band, which simplifies input-filter design in noise-sensitive equipment.
