600 mA output, 750 kHz switching — sizing the rail
The fixed 1.2 V output is set internally, eliminating the feedback resistor divider from the BOM.
Synchronous rectifier — one external diode removed
The built-in synchronous rectifier replaces the usual freewheeling Schottky diode. This simplifies the layout, saves board area, and improves efficiency at lower output currents — the part stays in continuous conduction mode without the diode's forward drop eating into the efficiency curve. For a 600 mA rail, this is a meaningful BOM simplification.
It does not extend to the 105°C or 125°C ambient needed for under-hood automotive or downhole equipment.
Texas Instruments lists the TPS62003DGSRG4 as an active product. For a procurement desk qualifying a new BOM line, this part carries no imminent obsolescence risk.
