Switching at 750 kHz lets you pick a smaller inductor — typically 4.7 µH to 10 µH — than a 300 kHz part, at the cost of slightly higher switching losses.
That covers most indoor and outdoor telecom, industrial control, and battery-powered equipment, but not under-hood automotive or high-density server racks where ambient exceeds 85°C.
