Boost regulator with 2 MHz switching and 445/890 mA flash current
A DC-DC boost regulator using a Step-Up (Boost) topology, the TPS61325YFFT integrates three outputs with internal switches. The 2 MHz switching frequency allows small external inductors and capacitors, shrinking the solution footprint for a camera module PCB. Output voltage is adjustable from 2.5 V to 5.7 V, covering the forward voltage range of series-connected white LEDs. Per-channel current is 445 mA continuous, with a 890 mA flash mode — the higher burst current supports the xenon-like pulse needed for camera flash illumination. Dimming is controlled via PWM, which keeps the LED colour temperature stable across brightness levels — a requirement for camera flash where tint shift is visible.
Application: camera flash — three outputs for multi-LED arrays
The TPS61325YFFT is designed for Camera Flash applications. Three independent outputs allow driving multiple LEDs or a segmented flash array, common in smartphone and compact camera modules where the flash must cover a wide field without hot spots.
