Synchronous boost converter in a 1.67 mm² DSBGA
The Texas Instruments TPS61282AYFFT is a synchronous step-up (boost) DC/DC converter delivering up to 4A through the integrated switch at a 2.3MHz switching frequency. The output is programmable between 2.85V and 4.4V from an input range of 2.3V to 4.85V — a natural fit for single-cell Li-ion or 3.3V-rail boost applications where board area is the binding constraint.
Voltage envelope and output programmability
The input range bottoms at 2.3V and tops at 4.85V, so it will boost a near-depleted Li-ion cell (2.5V–2.7V cutoff) but cannot survive a 5V USB rail without front-end protection. The output is programmable, not fixed — the datasheet's resistor-divider setting determines the regulation point between 2.85V and 4.4V. The 4.4V ceiling means this part cannot produce a 5V output, which may be a deal-breaker for USB OTG or 5V sensor rails.
