Fixed 5V rail from a 3.2V to 5.5V input
The TPS61241YFFT is a fixed 5V output boost converter from Texas Instruments. It takes an input from 3.2V up to 5.5V and delivers a regulated 5V rail — no external feedback divider needed. The 3.5MHz switching frequency lets you use small inductors and capacitors, which matters when board area is tight.
Switch current and synchronous rectification
At 5V output, that translates to roughly 200-300mA continuous output depending on input voltage and efficiency — enough for sensor rails, wireless module supplies, or a local 5V bus from a single Li-ion cell.
6-DSBGA — small footprint, careful layout
The part comes in a 6-bump DSBGA package (6-UFBGA, DSBGA). The 0.4mm pitch and 0.5mm x 1.0mm body demand a clean PCB layout — short traces from input cap to VIN and from SW to the inductor.
Active production, no LTB on the horizon
Lifecycle status is Active. The base product number is TPS61241; other output voltage variants (adjustable, 3.3V) share the same footprint if a design later needs a different rail.
