6-channel boost LED driver with integrated switches
It integrates six current-sink outputs, each rated for 30 mA, and includes internal switching MOSFETs — no external power FET is needed for the boost stage. The output can reach 38 V, which supports series strings of up to 10–12 white LEDs per channel depending on forward voltage. PWM dimming is handled on-chip, allowing brightness control without an external PWM generator.
38 V output, 30 mA per channel — sizing the LED load
The 38 V output ceiling and 30 mA per-channel current define the maximum LED string length and brightness. For a typical 3.2 Vf white LED, six channels of ten series LEDs each draw 180 mA total from the boost — well within the device's capability. The 300 kHz to 1 MHz switching frequency range lets the designer optimise between inductor size and switching losses.
Industrial temperature grade — not automotive-rated
For under-hood or cabin LED backlighting requiring -40°C to 125°C, a different driver with automotive qualification would be needed.
