Boost regulator for automotive LED backlight
It integrates a 1.2 A switch (internal switch) and operates at a fixed 1.2 MHz switching frequency, allowing small external inductors and capacitors. The output voltage range spans 3 V to 38 V, covering single-LED to multi-string series configurations typical in automotive dashboards and infotainment displays.
PWM dimming and output compliance
Dimming is controlled via PWM, a standard interface for LED brightness adjustment in automotive backlight modules. The single output channel delivers up to 1.2 A (switch current), which sets the ceiling for the total LED current — derate for string voltage and ambient temperature per the datasheet's thermal curves. Supply voltage range is 3 V to 18 V, compatible with common automotive battery rails (12 V nominal, with cranking dips and load-dump transients within abs-max).
