The 1.2 MHz switching frequency lets the designer use a small, low-profile inductor — typically a 10 µH to 22 µH shielded type — keeping the total converter footprint compact. The frequency is high enough to push switching noise above the AM band, simplifying input filter design for automotive and industrial environments.
Output voltage range and current capability
With an output adjustable from 3 V to 38 V, the part can drive a single high-voltage LED or a string of up to ten white LEDs in series, depending on forward voltage. The internal switch is rated for 1.2 A peak, which at 38 V output translates to roughly 30 W of output power — enough for a medium-sized automotive display backlight or a 7-inch industrial panel.
