Dual boost outputs for backlight strings
The TPS61163AYFFR is a dual-output DC-DC boost regulator designed to drive LED backlight strings. Two independent outputs each deliver up to 30 mA, with the output voltage spanning 2.7V to 38V — enough headroom for a series string of 8–10 white LEDs in a typical 3V battery-powered or 5V rail application.
Dimming flexibility: analog or PWM
Both analog and PWM dimming are supported, giving the system designer a choice between continuous current control (analog) or digital brightness stepping (PWM) without an external FET. The input supply range is 2.7V to 6.5V, so it runs comfortably from a single Li-ion cell or a 5V USB rail.
Package and thermal footprint
Surface-mount assembly with standard reflow; no special bake required if moisture exposure is controlled per J-STD-020.
