Boost regulator for LED backlight — 27 V at 35 mA per channel
It integrates the switching FET internally and delivers up to 27 V output across two channels, each rated at 35 mA. PWM dimming is supported directly, which is the standard interface for display backlight controllers — the dimming ratio and low-end linearity depend on the PWM input frequency and the external inductor selection.
1.2 MHz switching — inductor size and ripple trade-off
The 1.2 MHz switching frequency lets the designer use a small inductor (typically 4.7 µH to 10 µH range) and keeps the output ripple manageable for backlight supplies. The trade-off is slightly higher switching losses than a 500 kHz part, but the smaller footprint wins in space-constrained panel designs. The 27 V output ceiling supports up to six or seven series white LEDs, depending on their forward voltage at 35 mA.
