What this boost LED driver is built for
Two channels, one inductor — the layout win
With two regulated current sinks and a shared boost converter, this part drives two LED strings from a single inductor and a single 1.2 MHz switching stage.
Supply range and single-cell Li-Ion operation
The input supply range runs from 2.5 V minimum to 6 V maximum, which covers a single-cell Li-Ion battery (3.0–4.2 V nominal) cleanly. That makes the TPS61150DRCR a straightforward choice for battery-powered handhelds, tablets, and portable instruments where the backlight needs to stay lit as the battery discharges down to 2.5 V.
PWM dimming and temperature grade
Dimming is handled via a PWM input on each channel, giving the system designer direct brightness control from a microcontroller GPIO or a PWM timer.
