Two rails from one IC — boost plus LDO
The Texas Instruments TPS61107PW combines a synchronous step-up (boost) converter and a linear (LDO) regulator in a single 20-TSSOP package. The boost output delivers 3.3V at up to 1.8A, while the LDO provides a clean 1.8V rail at 500mA — enough to power a small microcontroller and its analog front end from a single low-voltage cell.
Switching at 500kHz — inductor sizing and ripple
Output ripple on the boost rail will be a few tens of millivolts with a ceramic output capacitor; the LDO on output 2 cleans up any residual switching noise for sensitive analog loads.
