Dual-output boost plus LDO in one 4x4 mm QFN
The Texas Instruments TPS61103RGERG4 integrates a synchronous step-up (boost) converter and a separate linear regulator (LDO) in a single 24-VFQFN exposed-pad package. The boost output delivers 3.3 V at 1.8 A, while the LDO provides a programmable output from 0.9 V to 3.6 V at 500 mA. This combination saves board space and reduces component count in applications that need both a main power rail and a lower-current secondary rail from a single battery input.
500 kHz switching – inductor sizing trade-off
The boost converter switches at 500 kHz, a frequency that balances inductor size against efficiency. At this rate, a 4.7 µH to 10 µH inductor typically works for the 1.8 A output, keeping the component height under 2 mm.
Input range from 0.8 V – single-cell battery ready
The 0.8 V minimum input is below the typical UVLO of many boost converters, so it suits low-voltage energy-harvesting or primary-cell designs.
It is not qualified for automotive under-hood or extended-temperature industrial beyond 85°C.
