The TPS61099YFFT accepts an input voltage from 0.7 V minimum to 5.5 V maximum. This covers a single alkaline cell (0.9 V–1.5 V), two NiMH cells (1.8 V–2.4 V), or a Li-ion cell (2.7 V–4.2 V) without a pre-boost stage. The adjustable output range runs from a 1.8 V floor to a 5.5 V ceiling.
800 mA switch current — output power budgeting
For a typical 3.3 V output from a 2.5 V input, the maximum output current is roughly 500 mA before the switch current limit engages — the exact number depends on inductor value and efficiency. Synchronous rectification is integrated, so no external Schottky diode is needed; the internal low-side FET handles the rectification, which improves light-load efficiency and reduces BOM count.
Industrial temperature grade and 6-DSBGA package
The 6-DSBGA package measures approximately 1.2 mm × 0.8 mm — the 0.50 mm ball pitch demands careful PCB layout: the thermal pad under the package connects to the ground plane, and the input/output capacitors must sit within 2 mm of the respective balls to keep loop inductance low.
