Input range and output capability
The 0.7 V minimum input allows the converter to start and regulate from a nearly depleted single-cell battery, while the 5.5 V maximum input gives headroom for two-cell alkaline or Li-ion sources. The fixed 3 V output suits logic, sensor, and RF loads that need a stable rail above the battery voltage. Synchronous rectification improves efficiency at light loads, which is critical for battery-powered IoT edge nodes that spend most of their time in sleep mode. The single-output positive topology keeps the BOM simple — one inductor, two capacitors, and the IC.
