Fixed 3.3V boost for single-cell battery rails
The Texas Instruments TPS61097-33DBVR is a step-up (boost) DC-DC converter that delivers a fixed 3.3V output from a single-cell alkaline, NiMH, or Li-ion battery — it starts up from an input as low as 0.9V and runs up to 5.5V on the input side. That 0.9V minimum input is the key spec for designs that need to squeeze every last drop of energy from a battery before the undervoltage lockout kicks in. Synchronous rectification is built in.
That means TI is not actively promoting it for new projects, though it remains available for existing production BOMs through the independent distribution channel. For a repair bench or a production line that already has this part on the BOM, the NRND status is not an immediate stop-ship — it is a heads-up to secure last-time-buy quantities or validate a drop-in alternative before the supply tightens.
SOT-23-5 footprint and thermal reality
The SOT-23-5 package has a standard pin pitch for small-signal regulators. The junction-to-ambient thermal resistance is dominated by the copper area on the top layer.
