Output voltage and current — what the 2 A switch rating delivers
The 2 A switch current rating is the peak current through the internal NMOS, not the continuous output current — actual output current depends on the input-to-output voltage ratio. For a 3.3 V to 5 V boost at 600 kHz, expect around 1 A output with good layout and a properly sized inductor. Output voltage is adjustable via an external resistor divider from 1.8 V (the minimum fixed output) up to the 5.5 V maximum input rating — the same pin handles feedback and enable sequencing. Synchronous rectification replaces the usual boost diode with a second internal FET, improving efficiency at light loads and eliminating the external Schottky — a real BOM simplification for battery-powered designs.
The 16-VQFN package with exposed pad (MSL rating typical for this class) demands a bake before reflow if the moisture-barrier bag is breached — standard floor life is 168 hours at <30°C/60% RH per JEDEC Level 3.
