Step-up converter for portable and multi-rail designs
Two selectable switching frequencies — 600 kHz and 1.2 MHz — let the designer trade inductor size against switching losses and EMI; the higher frequency shrinks the inductor footprint but increases gate-drive losses and may push the fundamental switching harmonic above the AM band.

Output can be set from 2.5 V minimum up to 27 V maximum via an external resistor divider.
The non-synchronous rectifier topology (no internal synchronous FET) means an external Schottky diode is required for the boost stage; the diode forward voltage and thermal rating must be factored into the efficiency and layout.
