Boost regulator for single-LED-string backlight
The TPS61060DRBR is a DC DC Regulator (boost) with integrated switch, designed for constant-current LED backlight applications. Its 1 MHz switching frequency allows small inductor and capacitor values, shrinking the PCB footprint for space-constrained displays. Output voltage reaches 14.5 V, supporting up to three white LEDs in series from a single Li-ion cell (2.7 V to 6 V supply range,). The 400 mA switch current limit sets the maximum LED current — derate for efficiency and thermal margin in the 8-SON package. PWM dimming is handled via the EN pin, enabling wide dimming ratios without audible noise from the inductor.
