2 MHz boost converter for camera flash LED drive
It integrates the switching FET internally and delivers up to 1.2 A peak current to a series LED string during the flash event. Switching at 2 MHz pushes noise above the audio band.
The 1.2 A output is rated as a flash pulse, not continuous DC. The boost converter charges the output capacitor between pulses and dumps stored energy into the LED during the flash. This burst-mode operation lets the small DSBGA package handle the peak current without exceeding the junction temperature limit. PWM dimming input allows the host processor to control flash intensity and torch mode by modulating the enable signal — no external DAC needed.
12-DSBGA — footprint and assembly reality
The 12-DSBGA package demands a controlled-impedance PCB stack-up with micro-vias for fan-out.
The base product family is TPS610, but pin-compatibility across the series is not confirmed without a cross-reference.
