Boost regulator sized for camera flash
The TPS61050DRCT is a step-up (boost) DC-DC regulator from Texas Instruments, purpose-built for driving a single white LED in camera flash applications. It delivers a regulated 5.5 V output at up to 1.2 A flash current, with PWM dimming control integrated on-chip.
Switching frequency and external component size
The 2 MHz switching frequency allows the use of small inductors and ceramic capacitors, shrinking the PCB footprint for compact camera modules or portable devices.
Operates from a 2.5 V to 6 V supply rail, covering single-cell Li-Ion and fixed 3.3 V or 5 V rails.
Housed in a 10-VSON (3x3 mm) with exposed pad for thermal dissipation.
