Boost regulator with integrated switch for LED backlight
It integrates the power switch, operates at a fixed 1 MHz switching frequency, and delivers a regulated output voltage up to 28 V from an input supply between 1.8 V and 6 V.
28 V output, 350 mA switch — sizing the LED string
The 28 V output ceiling supports a string of up to 7–8 white LEDs in series (assuming ~3.2 V per LED), which covers most small-panel backlight applications. PWM dimming input on the control pin allows the backlight brightness to be adjusted without audible noise, since the switching frequency (1 MHz) is well above the audio band.
Industrial temperature grade and SOT-23-5 footprint
The SOT-23-5 package (SC-74A) is a 5-pin, 2.9 mm × 1.6 mm body — small enough for compact PCBs, but the 0.95 mm pin pitch is layout-friendly for two-layer boards.
