Fixed 5V boost converter for single-cell portable power
The Texas Instruments TPS61026DRCT is a synchronous step-up DC-DC converter delivering a fixed 5V output from a single-cell Li-ion or multi-cell alkaline input. The 0.9V minimum input voltage lets the converter keep running as the battery discharges deep, and the 1.8A switch current rating supports output loads up to several hundred milliamps at 5V depending on input voltage and efficiency. Switching at 600 kHz with synchronous rectification keeps external inductor and capacitor sizes small while maintaining conversion efficiency above 90% across much of the load range.
0.9V to 5.5V input — fits battery rails from near-dead to full
The input range from 0.9V to 5.5V covers one to three alkaline cells in series, or a single Li-ion cell from its 3.0V cutoff up to 4.2V. The 5V fixed output is set internally; no external resistor divider is needed, which saves two components and one feedback node.
