Fixed 3.0 V boost for single-cell battery rails
The TPS61024DRCR is a fixed-output step-up (boost) converter from Texas Instruments, delivering a regulated 3.0 V rail from input voltages as low as 0.9 V and up to 6.5 V. The 1.5 A internal switch supports output loads up to several hundred milliamps at 3.0 V, depending on input voltage and efficiency.
The 0.9 V minimum input lets this part start up from a single alkaline cell (nominal 1.5 V, down to ~0.9 V discharged) or a Li-ion cell (3.0–4.2 V). The 6.5 V maximum input covers two-cell alkaline or a single Li-ion with headroom. The 1.5 A switch current limit sets the practical output current: at 3.0 V out, expect roughly 400–500 mA continuous from a 1.5 V input, scaling up with higher input voltage. If your load exceeds that, you need a part with a higher switch rating or an external FET.
600 kHz switching and synchronous rectification
The synchronous rectifier replaces the usual Schottky diode, eliminating its forward voltage drop and improving efficiency by 3–5 % at light loads. No external diode needed; the inductor, input cap, output cap, and feedback compensation are the only external components.
