3 A switch in a 2x2 mm WSON — what it buys the layout
The TPS61021ADSGT is a synchronous boost converter from Texas Instruments that delivers up to 3 A through its integrated switch in an 8-WSON package measuring just 2x2 mm. The 2 MHz switching frequency lets the designer use a small, low-profile inductor — typically 1 µH or less — keeping the total power-stage footprint tight enough for space-constrained portable and battery-powered products.
0.5 V minimum input — deep-discharge battery operation
With a minimum input voltage of 0.5 V, this part can start up and regulate from a single alkaline cell well into its discharge curve, or from a Li-ion cell that has dropped below its typical UVLO threshold. The adjustable output range from 1.8 V up to 4 V covers the rails for 1.8 V logic, 2.5 V I/O, 3.3 V sensor supplies, and 4 V LED bias.
