Charge pump with three output ratios
The topology uses no inductor — just two external capacitors — so the BOM stays small and the radiated noise profile is clean. The 250 kHz switching frequency keeps the flying capacitor values in the sub-µF range, which saves board area.
60 mA output — sizing the load budget
The 60 mA output current ceiling is the hard limit for the powered rail. If the downstream op-amp or comparator bank draws 55 mA total, the part fits; a 70 mA load pushes the junction above the safe operating area. The fixed output configuration means no external resistor divider sets the voltage — the ratio is hardwired, so the BOM engineer must pick the TPS60403 variant that matches the target rail.
The SOT-23-5 (SC-74A) package is a 5-pin surface-mount footprint with 0.95 mm pitch — the layout engineer needs a 4-layer board only if the thermal dissipation demands a copper pour under the part; two-layer boards fan out the pins without trouble.
