5A buck with a 36 V input ceiling
The TPS5450DDARG4: The output is adjustable from a 1.221 V reference up to 31.32 V. Switching frequency is fixed at 500 kHz.
Housed in an 8-PowerSOIC package (0.154" wide, 3.90 mm body) with an exposed thermal pad on the underside. The part does not use synchronous rectification, so the external Schottky catch diode carries the inductor current during the off-time and contributes its own thermal budget.
The input range is 5.5 V to 36 V.
