The Texas Instruments TPS54360BDDAR is a step-down (buck) regulator in the Eco-Mode™ series, designed for applications where the input rail can swing from 4.5V up to 60V.
Switching frequency — sizing the inductor and filter
Running at the lower end cuts switching losses and improves efficiency at heavy loads, but requires a larger inductor and output capacitor. At 2.5MHz the external passives shrink, but the higher switching loss and tighter layout constraints become the trade-off. The non-synchronous topology (no internal synchronous rectifier) means an external Schottky catch diode is needed — factor that into the BOM count.
