What the 619 ms reset timeout buys you
The TPS3840DL30DBVR holds the reset pin low for 619 ms typical after the 3 V threshold is crossed. That is a deliberate, long hold-off — enough for a bulk capacitor bank to charge and for a processor with a slow-start power rail to finish its power-on reset sequence. If your MCU or FPGA datasheet calls for a reset pulse wider than 500 ms, this part fits without an external RC delay.
The output is open-drain, active-low. That means the reset pin floats high when the supply is good — you pull it up to whatever logic voltage the downstream device uses. For a 3.3 V microcontroller, connect a 10 kΩ resistor to 3.3 V and the supervisor output will drive the reset pin cleanly. The 3 V threshold triggers when the monitored rail drops below 3 V, which is a reasonable brown-out detection level for a 3.3 V system.
