1.71V threshold supervisor — what it means for a 1.8V rail
The TPS3836E18DBVR is a single-channel voltage supervisor from TI's TPS3836 family, built to monitor a 1.8V supply rail and assert a reset when it drops below 1.71V. That threshold sits at the low end of the 1.8V tolerance band — it catches a brown-out before the downstream logic starts seeing undefined states, but won't trip on normal ripple. The output is push-pull, active-low, so it drives a reset input directly without needing an external pull-up resistor.
Reset timeout — 10 ms minimum
After VDD recovers above the threshold, the reset output stays low for a minimum of 10 ms before releasing. If your MCU needs a longer hold-off, you'll need a supervisor with an adjustable timeout or an external RC delay.
Housed in a 5-pin SOT-23-5 (SC-74A) package, this is a surface-mount part with a 0.95 mm pitch — fits a standard two-layer board without fan-out issues. It does not extend to the 105°C or 125°C required for automotive under-hood or high-density power supplies.
