2.93 V threshold — where it sits in the 3.3 V rail budget
The 2.93 V threshold is the undervoltage detect point for a nominal 3.3 V rail. Most 3.3 V logic retains state down to about 2.7 V, so this supervisor trips early enough to hold reset before the processor starts executing garbage. The 120 ms reset timeout gives the bulk capacitor on the 3.3 V rail time to charge past the threshold after a power-on or a brief dip. If your rail is 3.0 V or 2.5 V, this part won't work — you need the TPS3825-30 or TPS3825-25 variant with the matching threshold.
SOT-23-5 package — rework-friendly footprint
The SOT-23-5 (SC-74A) package is a 5-pin surface-mount package with a 0.95 mm pitch. The pad layout is standard — no exposed paddle, no buried vias. A 10 µF ceramic cap within 5 mm of the VDD pin is all the decoupling this part needs; the reset output is open-drain-like in behaviour (push-pull) so no external pull-up resistor is required.
Industrial temperature range — factory floor and outdoor gear
It is not qualified to AEC-Q100, so it does not belong in an under-hood automotive ECU or a 125°C engine bay module. For those environments, look at the TPS3825-33QDBVR Q-grade variant.
For dual-sourcing resilience, the TPS3825-33QDBVR is a pin-compatible Q-grade variant with the same threshold and timing — the Q suffix adds AEC-Q100 qualification, not a functional difference.
